Stuff Portrait Friday: "There's something afoot at the Circle K....."

Welcome to our weekly Friday installment of Stuff Portrait Friday, where we here at Casa McAustin (as well as all the other players) run around taking pictures of specific items and posting them, as per the lovely Kristine's instructions. This week the topic is "What's underfoot...." and our items are:

Our Doormat

Our Doormat

Chosen for it's size and durability. As an added bonus, the photo shows a random flyer left in the door jamb this afternoon that fluttered down when I opened the door to go get the mail....and which will stay in exactly that spot because I'm sure as heck not bending down there to get it.

Our Carpet

When we looked at this house prior to buying I thought about the color of the carpet - a very pale beige - and wondered how long it would last. Over the 3 years we've lived here this poor carpet has suffered all manner of abuses. Two newborns who have grown into toddlers (and all that entails), 1 cat, 1 kitten, 1 old very large dog, and a completely unruly puppy. Not to mention everyday wear and tear. Poor carpet.....It has to be cleaned - either steam or chem - at least every six weeks. I miss my hardwood floors.

My favorite socks

3 pairs: cushy ones for running around the house when it's cold, cute cat pair, and no-show liners for the gym

But usually, I'm just barefoot.....and pregnant.
